Approximately a week ago, I lost RDP access to my main workstation on my home domain.
I couldn’t:
I couldn’t RDP into it from any machine on the domain.
Ping it from the other servers
I couldn’t access my itunes library from my mac.
WSUS no longer could reach my workstation.
I could:
RDP to everything in my domain from my workstation.
Ping everything.
Access everything out.
I changed nothing. I checked: Antivirus, rdp settings, firewall, network settings you name it, I tried it.
I noticed the last updates that were installed around the same time this happened. I determined, (with the help of Experts Exchange) It ended up being update KB950762. When I uninstalled it, everything is now working fine.
This was a few days of pulling my hair, hopefully it will help someone else out.

Here is one solution and I am sure there are others. I can understand if they block it because they want you to pay for that port, but to have to buy a whole business package? That isn’t right.
Here is a sample:

Certain system changes require you to modify the registry. Since editing the registry is risky, make sure that you have a verified backup before saving any changes. In addition, it’s important to understand the differences between the two registry programs: Regedit and Regedt32.

* Uses an explorer style interface with all hives in a single window
* Opens at the location of the last used key
* Supports both key and value searches
* Has an executable that’s located at %WinBootDir%, usually c:\Windows
* Allows importing and exporting of text-based registry files
* Doesn’t have security
Regedt32
* Is available only in Windows NT, 2000, XP, and 2003
* Is a 32-bit Windows application

* Opens at the root level of each hive
* Can be used to work with hive keys, such as add, delete, and modify
* Supports only key searches–can’t search on values
* Has an executable that’s located at %SystemRoot%\System32, usually c:\winnt\system32
* Allows importing and exporting of binary registry files

I will admit it, I am so use to helping others, I always put my own annoyances last. Then I get to a point, that I just can’t take it anymore. Silly things that if I only take a moment to look, I would find the answer. The first one was every appointment that I did in Outook has a default reminder of 15 minutes. That meant my pda was always dinging at me, and driving me crazy. Sometimes I welcomed the reminders, other times I wish it would just stop beeping at me.
What about turning off the suggested e-mail addresses? Sometimes it comes in handy, other times, if it gets the correct e-mail addresses, it’s better to be turned off. Below are both of the 1,2,3 simple tips to accomplish these things in Outlook. Very simple.
Turn Off AutoComplete E-Mail Address As You Type
![]()
At first glance, the AutoComplete option in Outlook 2002 and higher looks like a useful feature. If Outlook recognizes a name that you are typing in a recipient box (To, cc, bcc), it attempts to complete the address for you. Most of the time this feature works well, however, it can be dangerous if the wrong name is filled in and you don’t notice before clicking Send. The following steps walk you through the process of turning this feature off.
